I have written since I could hold a pencil and sound out the Words. My first stories were on Big Chief notebooks and always involved adventure and excitement - and cowboys. As the years rolled by, I wrote everything from poetry to books. I kept a diary into my teen years until I discovered my sister read it! When my four sons were little, I even composed a series of junior detective stories just for them, but I didn’t take writing seriously until I felt God calling me to write for Him. Through the encouragement of my husband, I began to study the craft through how-to books and those written by my favorite authors.
 
DiAnnCommunicating through the written word is an addiction for me. Storytelling is in my blood, especially stories in which one or more of the characters are Christian. How these characters solve their problems and take that courageous step over the edge to embrace Jesus is my passion. Whether the story is a romance, suspense, or mystery, the character stands at the edge of the unknown with only their faith in God to sustain them. These are unique characters who stumble and fall only to rise again with renewed strength to carry out God’s purpose for their lives.

Isn’t this just like us? Jesus spoke in parables when he wanted His meaning to reach the heart of His people. My message to you is the same as the Scripture verse for my writing and speaking ministry: But if I say, “I will not mention him or speak any more in his name,” His word is in my heart like a fire, a fire shut up in my bones. I am weary of holding it in; indeed, I cannot.” Jeremiah 20:9 NIV

My prayer is that all of my writing - be it fiction or nonfiction - shows my love for God and a deep desire to carry out His Will.

Currently God has blessed me with many published books and novellas as well as non fiction articles, devotions, and short stories. I speak to women’s groups and teach writing workshops. It is my sincere hope that the pages in this website inspire you to seek your potential.

My husband and I are members of Metropolitan Baptist Church in Houston, Texas. I volunteer as a church librarian and teach ladies Bible study. We have four adult sons.
