DiAnn Remains Safe In Juba
I just returned from Kansas City and DiAnn had sent an email Wednesday evening from Juba, Southern Sudan. I am surprised she has the ability to do email. She also sent another email Thursday afternoon Juba time so I thought I would pass along her brief comments. These have the appearance more of telegrams where you’re having to pay for each character sent I’m guessing email is not high on her list of activities right now.
Wednesday - “I am here and fine. It’s hot. I’m staying at ACROSS compound. No electricity. No water. Good people. Seeing too much poverty.”
Note - ACROSS stands for African Committee for Rehabilitation of the Southern Sudan. They are the organization that World Vision has partnered with in Southern Sudan. You can read more about their multi-year effort that began back in 1972 here: http://www.worldvision.org/about_us.nsf/child/aboutus_sudan?Open
Thursday - “It’s not as hot today. Attended a government meeting with the director of ACROSS. I could say more, but I will let you read my journal when I return.”
I’m looking forward to speaking with her again once she returns to Nairobi this Saturday.
Thanks for continued prayers for the suffering Sudanese and DiAnn’s good health, strength & safety.
God Bless,
Dean
